CHARACTER INFORMATION
CHARACTER NAME: Raihan
CANON: Pokémon (Games), CRAU
TIMELINE: Shield post-game, after helping the protagonist defeat the wild Dynamax Pokémon at Hammerlocke Stadium.
AGE: 21
REFERENCE: @ Bulbapedia!
PERSONALITY: ABILITIES: Raihan has no abilities of his own, but has a team of Pokémon in his possession that he uses for competition and companionship. I wasn't too sure if they were considered a personal effect or an ability because of what they can do, but I've put it here so I don't crowd the other section. I've given them a brief summary of what each Pokémon is like and their defining traits as a species, but I can also detail their movesets, if required. These are the Pokémon that he had in his possession in Tabula Rasa; let me know if the number needs to be paired down.
PERSONAL EFFECTS:
Rotom Phone - A smartphone, with the capability of housing a Rotom to enhance its functions. Its functions are similar to a modern-day smartphone, with the added capability of being a fully functional Pokédex. The phone can operate without Rotom possessing it, but it will lose significant features (and be a lot less fun to have around).
I'd like to have Rotom inside the phone and responsive if possible, but I understand if it needs to take up a required Pokémon slot or is nerfed, such as a requirement to stay inside of the phone's hardware.
Dynamax Band - A sweatband-like device that Raihan wears on his left wrist. When a Dynamax Band has a Wishing Star affixed to it, it gives the owner control over a Pokémon's ability to "Dynamax" -- a temporary distortion of space that drastically grows the Pokémon's size. However, this transformation can only occur when the Dynamax Band resonates with a Power Spot - specific areas found around the Galar region, such as Gym stadiums or Pokémon dens.
PRIZED POSSESSION: A first-edition print of his rare League card, complete with heart-shaped holo foil.

PERSONALITY:
Raihan is one of the strongest Trainers in the Galar region, trailing only behind the protagonist and his rival Leon, the long-reigning, “unbeatable” Champion of Galar. Off the pitch, Raihan is a gentle and cheery person. He's seldom seen wearing a serious expression, taking on a charismatic, relaxed aura towards fans and challengers alike. As the last Gym Leader faced in the Galar League, he is aware of the strength and drive that his challengers possess and respects them for their prowess. Unlike other gym challenges that have challengers complete a gimmicky task or puzzle before facing the Gym Leader, Raihan opts for a simple marathon battle challenge inside of the Vault - a quiet, reflective location that is important to Galar’s history. On the pitch, however, Raihan takes on a more intense, focused persona. He checks that aforementioned relaxed persona at the door, sets his eyes on an all-out victory, and gives the crowd a show they’ll remember. Every step he takes in competitive battle is a step closer to defeating Leon, and that cannot be taken lightly.
Throughout his appearances in the game, Raihan is seldom seen without his Rotom Phone in hand. He frequently checks it in his idle animations, has it floating by his side during battle to stream the action online to his fans, and makes sure to snap an action-shot selfie before Gigantimaxing his Duraludon at the climax of each of his matches. Though this may make him appear narcissistic and ditzy, Raihan doesn’t exactly fit that bill. It is true that he has self-confidence to spare; he often refers to himself as “the great Raihan”, and isn’t afraid to remind people of his strength and status as Galar’s strongest Gym Leader. However, these brags aren’t completely unfounded. He is notably the only Gym Leader in the entire main series franchise to be equally referred to as a specialist in a specific type and a strategy - Dragon-type Pokémon and weather conditions in a double battle format - and consistently makes it to the Galar League's Champion Cup each year.
Even with that notoriety and self-importance under his belt, Raihan isn’t a sore loser by any means. He takes failure quite well for someone of his status, and chooses to be grateful for the experience rather than dwell on his shortcomings. His hobby of taking selfies and posting them to social media initially started not to garner popularity, but so he could remember the sting of defeat to motivate him to be better for his next battle. While he’s expanded his online presence to include content more typical of a social media influencer, those post-defeat selfies still make appearances for that same, humble reason. He’s grown a thick skin to deal with troll comments and naysayers calling for him to quit when he loses against Leon, and simply strives to learn from each loss.
This more humble side of Raihan stems greatly from his rivalry with Leon, with whom he has a ten-nil losing streak against. Their relationship is an important facet of Raihan’s character, and a key aspect of his growth both as a person and as a Trainer; while Raihan is the only Trainer in Galar that can give Leon a real challenge, Leon keeps Raihan grounded and stops him from getting too full of himself. They inspire each other to keep training in order to give each other increasingly intense, satisfying battles. Raihan in particular is enamoured with their rivalry; he is intensely determined to defeat Leon on his own terms, refusing to move forward in any other aspect. According to his League Card blurb, it is rumoured that Raihan could easily become Champion in another region, but chooses to stay in Galar because of Leon. He isn’t after the glory of becoming Champion, rather, he only wants the satisfaction of being good enough to defeat his rival. Becoming a Gym Leader was originally a means to that end, but he has since grown into the role and made it his own.
Raihan among the most popular personalities of Galar’s professional League scene, no doubt in part due to his social media activity and strength on the pitch. At his core, he's a crowd-pleasing entertainer that wants to see others doing their best while also bettering himself and striving towards a deeply important personal goal. He’ll stop at nothing to reach it, but he’ll be damned if he doesn’t have some fun with it along the way.
Each of these Pokémon is kept in its own Poké Ball - a high-tech capsule-like device that cozily houses Pokémon when they are not in battle and keeps them in a portable format.Duraludon: A 6-foot tall bipedal dragon with a body made of duralumin, a lightweight metal. Despite its chunky appearance, it is quite agile and acts as the powerhouse of Raihan's team. Under the right conditions it is capable of a temporary transformation known as "Gigantimax" under the correct conditions, which grows it into an incredibly large, skyscraper-like form.
Torkoal: A 1-foot tall quadrupedal tortoise that burns coal within its body to produce energy. In addition to being able to breathe fire, it can dispel a deep black smoke from its nostrils back to confuse enemies. Its ability can summon heavy sunlight in battle, which Raihan implements as a weather strategy.
Flygon: A 6.5-foot tall insect-like bipedal dragon with two large, diamond-shaped wings. It thrives in hot, dry desert weather, making it a perfect candidate for Raihan's weather strategies that implement Sandstorm conditions. The wind currents it kicks up when it beats its wings sound like a woman singing.
Turtonator: A 6.5-foot tall bipedal turtle with sharp spikes protruding from its shell. Like Torkoal, it has the capability to breathe fire, but is somewhat more unstable - its shell contains a layer of chemicals that will combust and explode if struck with enough force, thanks to its diet of sulfur and volcanic minerals.
Goodra: A 6.5 foot-tall dragon that is constantly dripping in a layer of thick slime. Though it is normally meek and friendly in nature, it is incredibly protective those it cares for and will not hesitate to deliver heavy body slams to aggressors if threatened. Its horns in particular are incredibly strong, packing strength that can hit 100 times harder than a heavyweight boxer. Its slime protects it from physical attacks and keeps its skin hydrated. Raihan uses her primarily in his rain-based weather tactics.
Sandaconda: A 12-foot long serpent-like creature with a large pouch around its neck that is used to store sand. It uses its large nostrils to spit sand and whip up sandstorms that confuse foes and prey alike, giving it a tactical advantage in the wild. It is quite egotistical and proud of itself, but becomes quite timid when it runs out of sand to defend itself with.

CRAU PREMISE:
Tabula Rasa (tabularasa_rp ) was a setting with a heavy world-building premise, which quite literally started from nothing; characters would wake up in an empty white nothingness that had little to no understanding of how a functioning universe was supposed to work. It soon became apparent that the unnamed, mysterious world (coined "the Void" by player characters) would learn from its inhabitants by taking locations, species, and canon mechanics from their memories and try to make something new from them. For example, Hammerlocke Stadium, a location known only to Raihan, was combined with snowy ruins from Celeste and the Citadel from Final Fantasy XV, completely changing its structure and surrounding areas. These combinations, known as "imprints", sometimes appeared to be made with logic in mind, but were usually nonsensical and seemingly random.
Raihan was among the first batch of characters to be introduced to the setting. It's not quite clear how long he was ICly there - the concept of observable time wasn't established until several months into the game's existence, but it's safe to say it was at least six months. He had particularly close friendships with Aerith Gainsborough, who he gave some basic training lessons to tame her pet Pidgey-cat-rabbit hybrid, Turing, an AI that he became quite protective over, Blue, another Pokémon Trainer from the Kanto region, and Legion, a sort-of robot that he was personally determined to get a laugh out of. He was also able to meet Lance, the dragon tamer Champion of the Indigo Plateau and personal hero of his. He had a particular dislike for Seto Kaiba's tasteless arrogance, and was somewhat suspicious of Goro Akechi, who seemed to harbor some ulterior motives that Raihan could never quite put his finger on.
He experienced a bit of trauma with false memories and a bout with an infection known as Overgrowth (essentially a platonic variant of hanahaki disease) that left a stem-shaped scar on his wrist, but he was always eager to explore new areas of the Void as it expanded while also trying to understand its motivations. It eventually became understood that the Void was a living thing that could be influenced and potentially communicated with, but Raihan ultimately disappeared before before any concrete answers about its existence could be found.
He's somewhat aware of the concept of worldhopping and DWRP jamjar meta thanks to a series of conversations he had with Espio, another CRAU character.
